Yasmin Directions?
Yasmin Side Effects?
Possible side effects when taking Yasmin include vomiting, breast tenderness, bleeding between menstrual periods, nausea, or weight change. Tell your doctor if these symptoms continue or are bothersome. See your doctor if you develop a missed menstrual period, dizziness or fainting, persistent or recurrent abnormal vaginal bleeding, swelling of fingers or ankles, headache, or difficulty wearing contact lenses. Seek immediate medical attention if you have calf/leg pain or swelling, chest pain, one-sided weakness, trouble breathing or shortness of breath, slurred speech, sudden severe headache, sharp or crushing chest pain, lumps in the breast, sudden shortness of breath, yellowing skin or eyes, changes in vision, numbness of an arm or leg, or severe stomach pain.
Yasmin Warnings?
While taking Yasmin, smoking cigarettes can increase your changes of side effects like blood clots, stroke, high blood pressure, heart attack, or other diseases of the heart and blood vessels. This medication may be less effective if you take certain antibiotics or anticonvulsants at the same time. Use a backup method of birth control until your next period if you are using any of these medications. Talk to your doctor about any questions. Some people who wear contacts develop vision problems and should see their eye doctor about this. You may develop dark patches on your face while using this medication. If you experience this, do not spend any time in the sun or under sunlamps, since this aggravates this condition. Taking birth control pills does nothing to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Do not take Yasmin if you are pregnant. Talk to your doctor right away if you believe that you may be pregnant. Women who are breastfeeding should talk to their doctor about this drug, since it is known to be passed in breast milk.
Yasmin Drug Interactions?
Those who take Yasmin will sometimes develop increased levels of potassium. Anyone who also uses an ACE inhibitor; a potassium supplement; potassium-sparing diuretic; an angiotensin II receptor antagonist; heparin; or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) should not take Yasmin. If you have any questions about the safe use of Yasmin, talk to your doctor.
Yasmin Missed Dose?
If while taking Yasmin you forget to take a yellow pill, take the medication as soon as you remember. Your next dose should then be taken at its regularly scheduled time. You can take more than one pill in a day using this plan.
If you forgot two yellow pills during week one or week two, take both when you remember. You may also take three pills at your next scheduled dose, or take two pills each at your next two scheduled doses. You are more likely to ovulate, so you should take extra precautions and use another form of birth control for seven days.
If you forgot two yellow pills during the third week, or if you forgot three pills at any other time, you must throw away your current package of pills and start a new one right away if you are a Day 1 starter. If you are a Sunday starter, continue using the current package of pills until Sunday, then throw it away and start a new one. You should not have a period during this month, but take a home pregnancy test if you do not have one next month. You should then continue to use another form of birth control until you have taken seven pills.
Yasmin Storage?
